# Coding agent prompt

> Let a coding agent integrate the Kalent API into your project.

Paste this prompt into your coding agent to integrate the Kalent API into your project. It gives the agent the base URL, the authentication header, and the talent search endpoints, then has it install the Kalent skill and follow it as the source of truth.

The agent reads your API key from the `KALENT_API_KEY` environment variable. Never paste the key into the chat: set it with the secret or environment-variable mechanism of your coding tool. To create a key, see [Authentication](/authentication.md).

```text Coding agent prompt wrap theme={null}
Context:
- Integration: Kalent API
- Use case: Talent sourcing (search and qualify candidates)
- Base URL: https://app.kalent.ai
- Authentication: header `x-api-key`, read from the `KALENT_API_KEY` environment variable
- Endpoints:
  - `POST /api/v1/search/talents/by-prompt` with `{ "prompt": "..." }`
  - `POST /api/v1/search/talents/qualified/by-prompt` with `{ "prompt": "...", "qualificationCriterias": ["..."] }`. It answers 202 and runs in the background.
  - `GET /api/v1/search/talents/qualified/{castingId}` to poll a qualification
Run `npx skills add Candide-AI/kalent-skills --skill "build-with-kalent"`. That command installs the skill. Follow the installed skill's SKILL.md. That file is the source of truth for calling the API. Consult it for API usage and follow its guidance rather than guessing or relying on memory. Use the context above about what I'm building to choose which Kalent endpoints and options fit best. If the skill cannot be installed, use https://docs.kalent.ai as the source of truth instead.
Set up my `KALENT_API_KEY` using the secret or environment-variable mechanism for my coding tool. Always read the key from the environment, never from the chat: do not ask me to paste it here, do not print it, and do not commit it.
Start by reading and following the skill instructions, then help me implement this in my project.
